Playing sports in college??

If I wanted to play volleyball or soccer for a college, do I have to be recruited, or can I "tryout"? Also, how do you get recruited?? Can you ask for recruters to come out and watch you, or what???
Thanks

Depends on the school and how strong the program is whether or not you can "try out" (walk-on). Most schools have recruiting forms on their website, so all you really have to do is fill one out with all your stats, maybe contact a coach and let him know you're interested, and it'll pretty much just progress from there.
