Transferring AP & IB Credit = DISADVANTAGE in University?

That's what my friend was telling me.. because university courses cover more material; any thoughts?

    It depends.....

    Good:
    Getting general elective credits eg. humanities credits for STEM students

    skipping lower level classes when many others also skip, eg. Calc BC in most cases

    Bad:
    Passing through lower classes when the higher classes depend on lower classes' material that is not covered in AP
