It's a bittersweet feeling. If any of you are in my position, you'll have this desire of finally leaving your parents' house and getting perhaps ankle-deep in the real world. I crave this independence, but I'd miss my family too.

Can't wait to be on my own. It will be like man vs wild everyday except at a college campus with no camera.

Venator: We can relate. I can't WAIT to leave this area but of course I'll miss the family and all. But I just need to get away.
Meanwhile most of my summer is dedicated to finding a job lol.

Tell me about. I've applied to about 6 places. Places that say they are hiring but when I call they're like, "Oh no, we're not looking for staff...".

I'm not "leaving home" for college. Those going off to the Ivy League and top colleges are a bit condescending, but I'm saving a lot of money, no room/board/college life issues/ roommates / bad food, cheaper tuition, easier competition, and they actually generously accept most of my AP credits finishing over 70% of my GE--unlike what I hear at Berkeley.
I'll apply to those colleges just for the acceptance bragging rights |

^At roughly $70 a pop, those are some expensive bragging rights |

I'm so excited to finally apply to college and leave this town. I really do not like it here at all. But, I'm gonna miss my family. It's just my dad, brother, dog, and I in my house and I really don't know how they're going to survive. Even when I'm gone for one night they don't know what to do with themselves. Oh well, not my problem.
I also feel prepared for the "real world" of college, where parents aren't nagging, etc. My dad doesn't even know how I do in school, other than that I do really well. I don't think he's seen a single report card. He doesn't care if I do my homework or not because he knows I will. I guess it comes with the territory. I'm just really excited to not have to deal with my brother's disgusting smelling room and feet anymore. One. More. Year.
One. More. Year.

Being in a small town is not a lot of fun. The most exciting activity I have access to is going on the cc forums.

Next for AP tests I'll have Chem, BC, Macro, Micro, and stat, but I'm not going to stress over them, because by then I'll know what I can get credit for, and what I can't.
