Just submitted my UMass app! I should know in roughly 4 weeks (since itll take about a week to get there) =D Penn State I finished, I just need to send in my transcripts. (I just ordered them today.) I sent in my transcripts for Mercy this AM, so I should know in a few weeks. I'm excited! =D I love the fact that I'll already know about almost every school (except Brandeis and maybe Pace. They say they'll notify EA applicants by early Jan, but that's when the app is submitted on the deadline) by the end of Oct/early Nov. |

Now I am curious, Rachel. May I ask why you dropped Brown?
To be fair, I dropped it the moment Emma Watson transferred, but...

I have a very small chance of ever getting in (1-2% based on my stats). Besides that, the campus is kind of annoying. Everything is so spread out. My dorm (Summer@Brown) was a 45 min walk from my class. Granted my dorm was in the grad center dorms, but still. It's just kind of spread out. There'll be like a few random houses and then a Brown building. It's oddly set up.

I see. I had planned on applying because Brown is the Happy Ivy, due to grade inflation and whatnot, but that is a rather trivial reason to apply somewhere. Its name isn't so exciting either...
My chances aren't that great, maybe 10%, but those are terrible odds for an annoying campus. |

If you go to their website, they have a chart that shows the percentage accepted with certain SAT scores, GPAs, and class ranks. I just feel like applying would be a waste of a fee waiver (since you can only get 4).
In other news, my GC gave me a paper for a scholarship today that'd give me a full ride. However, today's the deadline. It has 3 short answer questions, 2 essays, I need 3 letters of recommendation, and my transcript. My school can't even put together my transcript in 1 day. Besides that, asking 3 teachers for last minute recommendations, would be kind of inconsiderate. If it were just the writing, I'd definitely get it done today. It's kind of disappointing.

Oh, I have another guidance dept fail story. So 2 weeks ago, I handed my GC my transcript request form for Pace and asked her to put it in with my transcript. I also told her I needed a secondary school report. A week later I go back in, just to make sure it was sent off. She tells me I need to fill out part of the secondary school report (which I didn't mind). She said ahe'd get it sent off that day. I thanked her and went on my way. I go back in yesterday to make an appt and get my transcripts (for Mercy and UMass). The lady who handles the transcripts hands me the unsealed transcript that was supposed to go to Pace 2 weeks ago and says she wasn't sure what to do with it. *sigh* Thankfully when I went in there today, my GC saw it and said she mailed it yesterday.
At least they're very nice and friendly. They really are great people, but the lack of punctuality is sort of inconvenient.

The UNC App is due in two weeks, and I still have yet to even start any of my essays. I am pathetic.

The only thing that motivated me to get them done early is knowing that if I submit them early, I could know early. I can't handle this waiting thing. I'm so paranoid I won't get in anywhere; having a few acceptances early will allow me to be calm
Normally, I'm an awful procrastinator.
