I mean I guess the damage is already done. I've heard it from enough people/classmates that I should apply to places like Yale because "I'll definitely get in." You can't explain the acceptance is difficult because they think you're just trying to be modest or something.

Strange. I took a picture of the package. It sucks that we can't upload pics. I wonder why

I think in truth only the teachers and GCs know how hard it is to even get in.
If you get rejected, It's nothing to be embarrased about. Explain to them why you didn't get in and they'll probably say: "they should had let you in!"

I got the tube from mercy, no tshirt though. I well maybe they'll give something out o Tuesday.
On another note, I had an AMAZING time at the overnight, I wasn't sure about applying there at first but now I know that I would love to go there- it isn't my top but it's close! Everyone was insanely nice and they were loud and crazy ( just like me) we parties until like 12 and then we watched tv and talked until like 2; while we were in the student lounge 4 girls went running by us; one was in a towel and the other 3 were chasing her they passed us like twice it was really funny. Then there was this girl Emily who at 2 am, offered everyone sandwiches. She was like "I have ham, turkey, Swiss, cheddar, and then I have PB&J"

Heh, I never responded to that email from Vandy about requesting an interview. Didn't feel like doing one and I'm fairly certain that I'm gonna get in. Plus, my sister went there so I already have an insider's opinion.

I have to write a 3 page blog for one of the characters in lord of the flies today. I chose Piggy. I was debating between Piggy and Simon since I feel like I can relate to both of them, but piggy talks more so it's easier to write from his POV. I'm on page 2 already 8)

Meh, i'm not sure if i'll do interviews. Only one school i'm applying to does them, and I don't really think it would make a huge difference.
re: last page's discussion about being embarrassed about applying to certain schools, then possibly not getting in; maybe I can say this because I haven't received any decisions yet (though I did pick schools I know I will most likely get in at), but I wouldn't be ashamed. First, you shouldn't have to not say you're applying somewhere. It doesn't really matter if the school is too hard or too easy for you to get into, i'd still be proud no matter what. And if you don't get in, then it just wasn't meant to be. You'll get in somewhere, and even if you only get into one school, that's the place you were meant to go.
Such is the approach that i'm taking, and it's working out fabulously so far.

My anatomy teacher added 28+ points onto the test. The max score was a 45, and I got a 73. I don't even know how. I thought I failed. I was literally panicking after I took it. I was so upset because I truly thought I failed.
But I'm happy though. I have a 128 in the class now.

I'm super thrilled that I got good scores on the last two physics tests--93 and 88, respectively! Calculus, I just came back from the brink--two upper B's in a row brought me back up. Gov is another issue....:\
Sigh. So what's up with all a'yall this fine Veterans Day weekend? Who's working on what? Personally, I have a ten page paper on nuclear reactor regulation due tomorrow--ask me about nuclear safety, I'll do my best to answer!

I'm working on a bunch of AP bio stuff right now thats such a pain..does anyone else here feel like the whole college thing is putting a strain on your friendships? My best friend and I are super competitive with like everything and I feel like he's always trying to one-up me on everything and exagerrating about what schools have contacted him and it's really getting annoying. plus I told him once how im probably going to have to take a small loan for school, and today we were hanging out with a bunch of people and when our frineds mom (who i just met) asked me where i wanted to go and commented on how expensive notre dame is and how my parents must be doing very well he was like oh well shes taking a loan...i was so annoyed bc first of all thats a personal thing, and second of all itd be a loan to cover room and board which isnt a huge deal and his parents are paying for everything bc he only has one sibling who went to college for practically nothing on a scholarship, meanwhile i have two siblings, one of which we are paying $60k a year for already for college. plus he knows my dad's job is ending this month so its sort of a sore subject so maybe im just being sensative but i feel like that was so out of place.
