Hi guys are any of you or dou you know any high school student who is a pharmacy technicain at Walgreens? I want to get a job there but are there certain procedures if you have to complete?

If you go on Walgreen's website you can learn what you have to do. This is some of the info that is from the site:

Pharmacy Technician
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to deliver quality patient care and excellent customer service. As allowed by law, your duties may include:


Assisting pharmacists in filling prescriptions
Using our Intercom Plus computer system to process prescriptions and assist patients
Handling phone inquiries
Entering patient purchases on pharmacy cash registers

Walgreens offers paid training and national certification for Pharmacy Technicians. In most states, Pharmacy Technicians must be at least 18 years old. Some states may have additional requirements.

In some states, Pharm Techs must be certified by taking an exam. Google your state + pharmacy tech requirements for more info. In most chain retail drug stores high school kids are not allowed beyond the pharmacy counter, even as clerks, due to the liability and prevalence of lawsuits. You probably have a better chance if you work as a clerk elsewhere in the store and transfer to the pharmacy when you turn 18.

I graduated from a university earlier this month with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. My intent was to go to pharmacy school; I applied to 3 schools and got 3 rejections. Any help as to what I should have done differently? How many schools should I have applied to? My GPA is 3.4.

Does anyone know if I can still get into a Pharm D program for the Fall 2009?

has anyone replied to your question yet? because i was going to go for two years, major in bio and minor in chem and then apply for pharmacy school to get a pharm.D but if you have a gpa of 3.4 and got rejected 3 times im kind of reconsidering my options...

GPA is NOT everything. I worry about my GPA sometimes, too. But a good pharmacy school will look at multiple factors when examining the applications. I know it helps, but focusing on it too much will decrease your/our other attributes and it will show in the app.
