Best books for APWH... and SAT II US history?

Amazon.com: United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination (9781567656602): John J. Newman, John M. Schmalbach: Books

Well I heard this book was great for APUSH ^^^

so I got that....

Anyone know of the best APWH review book? I'm going to self-study for this, and I forgot all my stuff. o_0 I took it as a sophomore, and I'm now entering senior year.

And I might take the US history SAT II test. What's the best book for that?

You should have gotten The Essential Content for both AP US History and SAT II USH. It nails both.

I got an 800 in SAT II USH.

Edit: I saw that you bookmarked a discussion on review books. Well, if you're really into review book discussions then check this out.

A Guide to History SAT II

Bottom line: in the vast intellectual wasteland of review books, which is filled with pretenders, The Essential Content is the only contender.

For SAT US History, I would recommend the Direct Hits book or Crash Course (they have the same author).

Essential is ALSO the same authoer as Direct Hits and Crash course...it's just that the Essential content is his newest and best book.

The Essential Content is an updated version of Direct Hits. Essential has more info for essays, which might be helpful for the AP (SAT II, not so much). Crash Course is anemic for either the AP or SAT. Spend a few more dollars and get Essential. Crash Course simply isn't enough for either the AP or SAT II anymore; trust me - I own both Crash Course and The Essential Content.

Was Essential published recently? I'm sorry haha - I took USH two years ago.
