How did you find out so early? I just sent in my application, so it'll probably be a while before I get a decision.

i applied early action, which was due november 1st and they notify us by december 24.

Kool. What did you include in your legacy essay? I didn't know what to talk about. My app is going off as soon as possible, the later I send it, the later I will get a decision lol.

i just talked about what they asked about. my strong points, weaknesses, goals, and what i hope to accomplish at howard.

It's great that you guys are applying early...Appyling early is what helped me get a great financial aid package...I'm a freshman at Howard (will be starting my second semester in Jan) and I'm loving it. I don't think it's very hard to get it.

I had a:

low B GPA and 1770 SAT. Good teacher recs, excellent essay, and great EC's, but the numbers could have been better.

Yea, my numbers and SAT are pretty good, but I got suspended in like tenth grade. Wasn't HUGE..but it's not the best looking thing on your app, who knows. It was only three days. I hope they don't hold that against me. Oh well..:-)

Yeah, that too. I got suspended for one day at school in Ninth grade (and get THIS, it was for SELF DEFENSE! Some kid in my grade slapped me in the back of my head FOR NO REASON, and so I promptly got up from my seat in art class and knocked the SH%T out of him. We were both suspended for one day).

I really don't think Howard will care that much. You included an explanation with your app, right?

Of course I explained the situation. Some kid came behind me and pushed me in the hallway and mother didn't raise no punk...ahaha. Then I got blamed by the principal for pushing another kid (because I was pushed, I landed into this other kid), so me and the principal were going at it, exchanging words. In the end, I got a three day suspension...yay..whoopty doo. I haven't had any problems with him since, but he know damn well he saw the other kid push me. Talking about the subject gets me heated lol.
