By the way if your choosing between hampton and howard, it just depends on the major! For business and politics probably Howard, because they have the top 4 school of business for enterprenuers. And for communications I would choose hampton, my stepmother is a recruiter and director for Scripps and she says that she likes Hampton and Ohio University for recruiting!!

Kyra,
It's either Howard or Duke, but Duke's financial aid is playing right now, so it looks like Howard, because I sure don't have $44,000 to dish out each year.
How about you?

I am leaning toward Hampton. They gave me a better financial aid package.
Howard gave me a big plus loan. My parents cant afford that.
Plus, I am accepted into their pharmacy program. That is a big plus.

Ok, we went in Blackburn Center and checked in, they gave these free bags (with HU tshirt, I Love HU Pin, and other stuff). Had a breakfast table set up with fruit, bagels, juices, umm all kinds of stuff. Finally @ 9 everyone had to seated in the place with all the chairs and stuff. So the band came out, with the dancers and flag girls, and so forth. The admissions woman spoke, the president spoke and some other man. It was a lot of speaking, but it was really interesting. There a student panel there to answer questions, so parents and students could get up to ask a question. Then later on, we got tours depending on our schools (communications, allied health, COAS, Business and whatever else...) which was fun. We came back for a parent/student workshop session, they served us lunch there. People left at different times. But I had a lot of fun.

| Financial Aid!
I recently got accepted into Howard and of course I wanna go! But, in my acceptance envelope, I didnt get any scholarships. I was wondering if Howard gives good financial aid especially to students who REALLY need it. Does Howard give lots of grants? I dont want to have to take out lots of loans to afford just one year at Howard. What about the next 3 years? I'm really concerned about the financial aid package from Howard. I havent received it and I'm almost camping out by the mailbox in anticipation. So, if anyone has any info on Howard financial aid, scholarships, grants, loans, anything, please let me know. Thank you so much!

Yea, Howard got me addicted, not necessarily with the tours and band. But the people seem really cool and the campus seems like somewhere I'd want to be.

I was going to go to Howard but they play too much for me. I haven't heard anything about scholarships, financial aid or the open house. I was accepted in December and they sent me another acceptance letter in March. They need to get their stuff together, but I'll probably come down from Johns Hopkins to visit yall so look for me alright. lol I'm on hbcuconnect too...

LOL Mr. Soc, i told you, you should have said something! where did you see me?
Unlike Mr. Soc, i didn't get there on time, Thanks to Howards Parking situations and driving around like crazy to find a parking pass. By the time i had gotten there the police officer was preaching and then there was an intermission. I thought it was ghetto when they gave us the enrollment page and residence paper. as to say "i want my money" lol but i had already paid so no worries on that. So when people got up we sat down lol. By that time we saw the Alpha's step then the student pannel, which was pretty cool; however, some of the questions could have been better. Afterwhich we went on a brief tour, they seperated us by college, and since i wasn't with my parents and some friends we decided to have our own tour, but i've been there and stayed there for a month so i didn't really need a tour. I wanted to go to the lunch part but... Negril was calling so i had to answer. After that, we went to The Quad to visit a couple of friends, that stayed in Wheatly. Then after my bestfriend and i on I-95 to get back to Baltimore. were i was stuck in traffic and screaming lol.
Overhall since i've been sold on Howard ever since i was in the 10th grade i couldn't have been sold any more. I loved the experince i liked the fact that it was a community and that people dress like me, OK i am serious, i got dogged for wearing polos and jeans in High school, Other than that it was a wonderful experince and i can't wait for pre-orientation in June where i get to really meet and greet some of my future bison.
SO NEXT TIME IF SOMEONE (Mr. Soc) see's me please say something!
