Financial Aid!

I recently got accepted into Howard and of course I wanna go! But, in my acceptance envelope, I didnt get any scholarships. I was wondering if Howard gives good financial aid especially to students who REALLY need it. Does Howard give lots of grants? I dont want to have to take out lots of loans to afford just one year at Howard. What about the next 3 years? I'm really concerned about the financial aid package from Howard. I havent received it and I'm almost camping out by the mailbox in anticipation. So, if anyone has any info on Howard financial aid, scholarships, grants, loans, anything, please let me know. Thank you so much!

Either you were selected for verification and still haven't sent your forms in or they're working on it. When I visited, the woman said she was still working on our financial aid (us Verification kids) and we should be hearing something within the next two weeks. You can also apply for the donor scholarship which is supposed to go up online on April 19th. It's very competitive, so get it in as fast as you can. (They say you should fax it)

I was selected for verification and I just recieved my financial aid information in the mail...

which said that my file was STILL incomplete because my mom forgot to sign her tax return.

Well besides that, you should probably be receiving something in the mail pretty soon.

See my mom was on the phone when she faxed stuff over to make sure everything was okay. She figured since she filed electronically that she wouldn't need to sign it. WRONG. So my mom faxed it again with a signature. I know my mom has called financial aid at least 10 times in the last two weeks.

I didn't know I could fax the signed copy in?

They sent all of my verification forms back, it was stamped saying that they were entered already and that I should sign the appropriate forms and return.

BTW, did you get your award package already?

ok.. so i am not validated or vertified or whatever for financial aid BECAUSE my mom didn't send in the tax returns nor the dependant form; however, i am 18 but my parent still satisfy more than half of my living conditions, (i am only working to raise money for spending for fall) the only thing that i've satisfied is my FAFSA.. the Donor Scholarships are up but how do you apply for them?

Does that automatically come out with our acceptance packages, because I didn't recieve anything if so! Which is still okay, because it is still less than my other schools!

^^Well I'd call the financial aid office if I were you, which closes @ 3 I believe? Most likely if you didn't send in any forms they're going to make you send those in. I was thinking the FAFSA would satisfy everything (like some of the other colleges I applied to), but evidentally it wasn't enough. *****ed* I want my packet lol

That donor scholarship had a few confusion questions that had me stuck.
