Questions

In the fall I start applying to colleges and Howard is my 1st choice. I haven't visited the school yet, but I will be in late Sept. I have a few questions that couldn't be answered from Howard's website so I came here to ask people who may have had the same questions and got answers.

1) When does HU make their app available? I want to submit a paper app but I might choose the online one if the essay question is better because I heard that paper and online have different questions.

2) I waited until June to take the ACT (I didn't take theS SAT) and got a 24 & 8 on writing. I know I could do better if I retook them but the next test date is late Oct and the Early Action deadline is Nov 1. I would need my scores rushed to HU, but is it worth it? Should I just stick with the 24 & 8 because HU's av is around 22 and I think the rest of my stats are fine? Although I won't qualify for any scholarships, which I need.

3) How is the school of communcations? I want to focus on journalism so I'm wondering how competitive it is to get into - more/less than COAS?

yea some people are on hbcuconnect but i think most people are just viewing the post and not responding because they dont have accounts. i just created mine because i also have those same questions.

1) i want to know when their apps are available because i want to request a hard copy from HU, not the one you download yourself.

2) i also got a 24 on the act after taking it 2x and I'm not sure if i should take it again either.

3) i'm planning on going to the school of comm too. jamie what field of journalism are you applying to? i'm thinking about broadcast or print.

4) what are the male dorms like inside? i know freshmen boys only get two halls. i want to visit HU soon, probably sept/oct.

any help????

Still nobody can help....

Tyler: I want to major in print journalism

Maybe no other replies yet because it is SUMMER and the people who could answer the questions are out all the time because they want to celebrate their time off college.

But i did sign up for a hbcuconnect account and i see people active there. So I'm just going to repost this question somewhere on there.

Tyler you should do the same. (and thanks for the replies!)
