Here's a thread with some links that might be interesting.

America's best Black Colleges. Spellman was number 1!

I went there from 78-84 (undergrad & med school) and loved it but its SO much fun it can be hard to graduate.I'd say it was largely middle class black folks who had often excelled where they came from. Men are "underrepresented" at most schools, I believe because the current school system doesn't play to their strengths. I think statistically men make up for it with the SAT's. Unfortunately this is not true for Black men.

Thanks a lot Shrinkrap for posting those links. I found them very interesting and insightful. I am definitely going to apply to Howard. I really seek a learning community in which I can be around people who look like me and are just as ambitious and I think Howard is the perfect place.
