The college admissions cycle seems so long to me, more so because I have already graduated from school.

The long wait is making me impatient and nervous. :-(

I'm still in school. Graduation is a few months away. I guess, for me it's good in the sense that my mind isn't on admissions decisions all the time, since school keeps me occupied. Though, at this point, all we talk about in school is college, and the nervousness is almost contagious.

To change the topic of conversation into something more positive, what kind of extracurricular activities do you want to do in college?

Cool. I want to do something involving humanitarian efforts, but I also want to learn how to do something completely new and random.

Haha, welcome Tizil

@TheEcnegilletni (gosh your name would be so much easier to spell ulta :P )-
I want to do a LOT of stuff! I would like to be involved in photography + art clubs, do some community work, involve myself in some leadership activities, definitely get into creative writing/editing for magazines, take up music again (instrumental/vocal)....haha this sounds so insane And I would definitely sign up for a ton of things I have never done before so that I learn new skills and get new experiences. Basically, I would do as many different things as I could, without being insincere at any of them xD

Oh and I'm so glad I have my boards right now, it's totally taking my mind off things In any case, I'm setting myself up for all rejections I think that's the wisest thing to do.

For the past two years, UCLA has been releasing its decisions on the second Friday of March. Today is the second Friday of March.

That is just an extended observation. Who knows?

@Tizil Do you know whether they told applicants beforehand when the results are coming out? Their website still says mid-to-late March.

Anyway, they got record apps this year (close to 100,000 for freshman and transfer combined), so it wouldn't be too surprising if it doesn't come out today.

UCLA did NOT get 100,000 apps. It's closer to 72,000. 61,000 for UCB

Official CBSE results

First of all hellos to all CC'ers!
I know this is not an appropriate thread for my question, however considering the frequency of posts, I shall anyways ask my question.

To all those who applied to the University of Michigan- Were you required to send an official copy of your class X board examination result via the concerned testing agency (eg CBSE) ?

Hi guys, I'm in a dilemma. Tbh, my EC's are not all that spectacular. Granted, I still have quite some time left till I start applying and since I'm planning to utilize each and every second I may have built up an app with quite some substantial EC's, if not completely out of the world material, till then. However, to make up for any shortcomings in that section, I want to make my academic section as strong as possible. I have excellent grades in school, 9th through 11th, hence a perfect GPA. But in addition to that I also want to sit for the GCE A level exams, if possible. I have been searching on the net and found out that while it is possible to self study for these, its also a very daunting task. I want to know how do they compare with the CBSE course load? And when are the examinations held? And how do I go about registering for them since I'm self studying these? I may also take the distance learning program. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

TS (yes, I find your name amusingly repulsive, hence the acronym), their website does say so and no, they haven't sent out any email yet. Though you should keep in mind the fact that IST is 11 hours 30 minutes ahead of PST, so we should wait till anytime tomorrow afternoon for any definitive answer.

Also, you shouldn't care much about that number of 72,000. That's because almost everyone in Cal applies, without even caring to look at the requirements If you check their website, you'll see that the UCs are pretty lax about their reqs.

Raptor, don't know about U of M, however, Georgia Tech requires that. Though they do suggest sending it through a middle agency.

idream, ECs do not matter. Oh Boy, I'll have to write a huge post sometime about how people should start looking at ECs in another way ... but till then, be contended with the following: It is not the ECs that are spectacular, it is you that make them spectacular.

Also idream, you should probably hop on to the Pakistani Forum on CC. Those guys might be able to help you out regarding GCE A Levels much more than us
