Hi! I have got an interview call from uwc at the mahindra uwc (muwci) for the selection camp next month in Pune . Can any current, former or prospective students please tell me more about or generally discuss uwc. What is expected at the selection camp? do talk about your experience at the selection camp in detail and describe the interview process. Thank you :)

hey bessie2b...even ive got an interview call at mahindra uwc,pune.....on 7th of april....
from wat i have heard....it is a nerve wracking process....but its quite long....so you will get time to think and act accordingly....
the interview is supposed to be the toughest followed by the aptitude test....it will be an 8 hour long selection process.....which group are you in??
hope to see you there!!!! :D

Even I have been selected for the interview. Mine's on April 8th. When's yours?

As far as the interview goes, they did explain a bit about it in the e-mail didn't they?

Hey me too !! I'm in the group-A(April 6th-April7th) It's gonna be awesome !!! Hey do you guys know exactly how many people are shortlisted for the selection camp and how many applied ??
@adarshnet you got an e-mail ?? strange...I got a notification through the good ol' snail mail
@ankita hey it's not only an 8 hour process,it will a 24 hour "selection camp"
I'm excited to get to know you guys.Hope all of us get through !! Good Luck !!

hey, one more question!! does any of you mind sharing what you're gonna bring for the "unique object presentation", you guys know what I'm talkin' about right ??
  • adarshnetadarshnet Registered User Posts: 37 Junior Member
@Reichstag : yep, I got an e-mail. Maybe I'll get the acceptance letter in the mail some time later. And, about the number of candidates shortlisted, I'm guessing 120-130. (cuz, in the e-mail they said that we'll be in a group with about 10 others. And there are four groups per day and 3 days. So, 3x4x10 which equals 120ish. I could be wrong though)

And as far as the object of 'personal significance' is concerned I have not yet decided!

@everyone : Btw, where are you guys from? I'm from Hyderabad, AP.

it is a 24 hour selection process.....though the main portion wud b done in about 8 hour...i can be wrong thou...hey guys im a lil confused bout the adaptive aptitude test...got any idea??

    and im from delhi... :)
well i got a post not any email.....
and yaa it says in a group of 10 so i wasnt expecting more than 30 ppl coz there r three groups rite??? A,B,C
we will be further divided into sub groups or what???
n ya how much scholarship have u guys filled out in the form.....
  • adarshnetadarshnet Registered User Posts: 37 Junior Member
You're in group 'b'? lol. Each of the three of us belong to different groups. Maybe bessie is in your group.

And, I think there are 4 groups(A, B, C & D). I mean, they divided the parents into four groups na, maybe the students would also be divided into 4 groups.
  • ankita05ankita05 Registered User Posts: 19 New Member
reallly....i dnt think so....mayb dey divide the parents coz they r usually to be 2 per student...bt god knows.....do u have any info on wt to do fr the aptitude test... ??
they seem vry vague bout it??

    Hi everyone!
Okay so firstly, how many of you are in 10th and how many in 11th?
I haven't decided the object either.
There are three days- 1,2,3. Each day is divided into four groups- a,b,c,d.
@reichstag- thats true, the number will be about 120. Was there any additional information in the post? Cause everyone is supposed to get something by post as well as by email. Ive so far only got an email.
    Lets keep each other posted.:)

    I'm in 10th.

@Bessie2b : Which day is your interview on?
  • reichstagreichstag Registered User Posts: 32 Junior Member
Hey guys, I just got the e-mail too. I think I might have received the letter by post 'cause I live in Mumbai.
    @bessie2b NO,I don't think there's any additional information in the e-mail.So,don't worry :)
AND, I'm absolutely sure there aren't 120 people for the interview. The groups A,B,C,D are for PARENTS!!(I've read the letter thoroughly like 5 times)
@Ankita ALL of us are merely applicants like YOU.This means we're as clueless as you are about the whole "aptitude test" thingy!! So.there's no point in asking this question on THIS forum. Why don't you e-mail the UWC committee instead ?? :)

Hey is ANYONE here in group A ?? :D
BTW:I'm in tenth in the CBSE board
@everyone: for all of those in tenth which board are you studying in ?? and how's your board exam turning out amidst all this excitement !! :D

    People, check this out:
UWC Mahindra College monthly newsletter: INCredible weekend, 2011

There about about 120 interviews; and around 600 applied. Which means that they called 20% fOr the interviews. They should select between 60-65 people, I think.

they will be sacceptin arund 60 students... ???
    isnt that too much... :O

In the US they invite a hundred students for the interview;50 are accepted to the UWC movement out of which 25 go to UWC-USA, 8 go to Pearson and the Rest go around the world.

Applying the same logic, they should be selecting around 60 from India.
