Do colleges see the class average?

I have an 80/100 on my English exam, which isn't too good. But it is for our school, since the maximum permissible marks that can be given are 84, and the class average is like 60-70. So, my question is that whether the colleges will consider the class average? Also, will the colleges look at your overall percentage/gpa or all the subject marks separately?

Yes the college will see your grades in context of the rest of your class. That is what transcript or report card is supposed to be, your score vs. the rest of the class, that is the only way your grades can be assessed, they will be meaningless in isolation, whether 60 or 100.

Allright, that's a relief! Thanks any idea about whether the colleges will pay much heed to the 9th grades? Or will they pay more attention to 10th,11th and 12th?

Colleges look at high school record, so if there is upward and consistent trend 9-12, all is well.

What if the transcript doesn't have comparison with the whole class? Is it then suggested to put it in the teachers reco?

Yes that would help put things in perspective and give context to numbers.
