February 2nd auditions

Anyone auditioning this Saturday? Bring your boots. Central Indiana is supposed to get hit with some heavy snow on Friday!

For those who auditioned on Feb. 2, has anyone heard anything back from IU yet? How many auditioned on that day?

They send you a letter the week after auditions. Either a no..maybe..or yes. My D got a no.
I don't know how many auditioned that day, but around 300 will end up auditioning there and they said they only accept 10.

There was a morning and afternoon session of students. I'm going to guess 35-40 in each group? Students who got yes's and maybe's heard back a week later; rejections heard back by the middle of the second week. I believe there is one more audition remaining.

Wow, 10 is a really small number. What did you think of IU's mt program? I know it's new with no proven track record yet.

IU has an amazing program. They have had a BA theatre program for many years. They just decided to go one step further. So even though it is a new BFA program, MT is not new to IU.

I got deferred. Do you know who the boy is? I imagine you'd have to be pretty amazing to be accepted on the spot!

Songbirdsmom & hslevin - I just checked with my D and it turns out I had my schools mixed up; the boy I referred to was actually accepted at Ithaca. Sorry for causing confusion .

Oh that's ok.
I fell in love with IU too...I wonder how many people they defer? The wait is killing me!
