Chance me please (kelley)

I recently got accepted into the University, and now I am anticipating a response from Kelley. I have a 3.6 and a 27 ACT (taking it again in 2 weeks in hopes of getting a 29). I know that Kelley's direct admission requirements are a 3.7 and a 29 ACT, my question is if I was to petition it and submit a personal statement how likely are my chances of getting into the direct business program? Thank you in advance!

on the website it says in order to petition you must only be lacking in one criterion, therefore i do not think you will be admitted via petition unless you get a 30+ on your ACT in 2 weeks. you can apply again after your freshman year.

is the 3.7 g.p.a requirement weighted or unweighted?

I know it doesn't make a lot of sense, but it can be either. Whichever one your school reports on your transcript is the one that IU uses. Obviously, you want them to report the weighted gpa to enhance your opportunities/scholarship offers. However, if your unweighted score is a 3.7, that's good enough for Kelley.

Oh my gosh, I was in your exact position, except with a 3.8 gpa... I had a 26 ACt and didn't think I would be able to bring in up in time... but I got a 30, so I got the excellence scholarship aswell! Good luck!! I know how it feels to be in this place!

Thanks LaRokin. It's a terrible place to be on the border with both the ACT and GPA. If I had gotten an A instead of a B in 2-3 of my classes it would have raised my GPA up to get automatically admitted. Knowing that would have definitely made me try more. Oh well. At this point I'm just hoping for that 29 ACT so I have the chance to petition! I believe I did really well so I am hoping for the best.
