Flu vaccines?

Anybody know if vaccines are available in Bloomington for either regular or H1N1 flu? If so, at Student Health Center? My son says that neither are available. Thought I'd ask:

a) if anyone knows otherwise and
b) where to get the vaccines?

Thanks!

They have already run out of regular flu vaccines and H1N1 aren't at IU yet.

My son was able to get the regular flu shot at the CVS "Minute Clinic" on 3rd St. out by the mall. This was a couple of weeks ago, so be sure to call ahead to make sure they still have it available.

I was very disappointed in the IU Health Center in this regard. They had set up a schedule of clinics spanning about 2 weeks. Convinced my son to go to one that was scheduled in the second week, he goes and there is nobody there. The website still had the clinic posted on their schedule that day, but no notice until a few days later that they had run out of their supply.

Now, supposedly, you will be able to schedule your H1N1 vaccine through Onestart, once it becomes available on campus. I guess we just need to keep checking the Health Center website and the school paper, IDS, to find out when.

Hoosierfriend--as a local here, I can affirm that neither vaccine is available at the Health Center at this time. H1N1 vaccines are very slowly arriving in Monroe County just as they are slowly arriving everywhere. The first doses went to healthcare workers and then pediatricians offices. The county also administered 1000 doses to one of the local school districts last week. The larger local district and IU are still waiting. DD went on the second day of the IU regular vaccine clinic so she was able to get that vaccine. My understanding is that the regular vaccine is gone at this point, but he might call a Prompt Care center or the CVS minute clinic just in case. He might also ask if Prompt Care has the H1N1 vaccine. My pediatrician's office recommended I check there for the vaccine (not mist) for my husband as he has asthma. I picked DD up and took her to her pediatrician last week to get an H1N1 vaccine. You might call your local doctor and try to make an appointment over Thanksgiving. There are no classes on Wednesday of that week. If he manages to get it before then, great. If not, it's an option.

Thanks all three of you for your responses. Sound like we just need to be patient and a little lucky! This is apparantly a nationwide problem.
