Housing

I'm going to be a freshman at IU next fall and I was wondering which neighborhood I should apply for...southeast, northwest, or central? I'm going to be a psych/neuro major. Of course I'm going to party, but I still want a location where I can focus and get my work done when necessary.

Do not go for Northwest. I heard that it's a super intense party atmosphere and that it's never quiet.

Personally I'm putting Central as my first choice. It seems to be a balance of party/study and the buildings don't look as crappy as some of the other ones... and the location is convenient.

Collins LLC seems nice too but you sort of need to have the right personality for it based on what I've read on these boards.

So Central = Best.

Even though Northwest may be known for its party atmosphere, everyone goes to the library to study and stuff so I don't think that would be a problem.

Northwest really isn't as bad as it seems. Theres a lot of business majors in McNutt so they're going to party, but school is still important to them. I'm choosing McNutt because it's close to the stadiums, Kelley, and the Catholic Center. Haha. But if you're worried about it, i'd pick Central. Southeast is all like music majors.

The Kelley LLC is in McNutt Crone. My daughter is in it this year. Yes, there is definitely partying. But they also seem to work hard and are focused on doing well in school. The built-in support that comes with living with other business majors has been helpful.
