Whomever answers, that has info about Collins...can you also clear up my confusion about Collins? Am I really reading correctly that, to be housed in Collins you have to take up some precious credit hours to take a COURSE that is ... what ... ABOUT living in Collins? How stOOpid am I, not to understand what this is?

R124687, no experience with Collins but it sounds similar to an 8-week, 1 credit class D3 had to take when enrolled in a media FIG within the media llc. The students were basically introduced to the university, had weekly assignments such as attending a cultural event one week, a lecture by a visiting academic the next, then a community service project (each student researching and choosing their own activities). Emphasis was on each individual is responsible for what they make of the opportunities at IU.

Hoosiermom...Yes I remember seeing something like that in the LLC's descriptions. I'm not sure why I felt the Collins one was different. Probably it's the same thing. Get everyone acquainted. I just can't imagine using up some of their precious academic time for that. I think my D would be more apt to select a themed area anyway. But Collins had some amenities I thought might interest her. Thanks!

I lived at Collins while I attended IU. BS Finance '81. They had some classroom space and would offer special classes. I remember taking the history of terrorism and a class on Einstein's theory of relativity. The physics teacher realized the math was over everyone's head so he gave a passing grade for attendance. What is great about Collins is location. Most of where you will want to go is easily walkable. My daughter chose Teter for freshman year., plus there is air conditioning and close to exercise facility.
