Wow, now there are four of us already! Maybe we should set up a Facebook group or something.. But it's very nice to 'meet' all of you. Just knowing more people in Holland are turning crazy with D-Day looming is a very comforting thought.. Let's hope at least one us will get in somewhere and make Holland proud!

@ zoulikhahaha
I'm from a regular dutch school, VWO gymnasium. I applied to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Brandeis and Hamilton. I'm so nervous for the results to come out! Good luck |

Bump! I wonder how you all are doing on your apps...
My first post here! Though I do have to confess that I've been lurking around here for quite a while now.
I'm in my junior year now. I'll be taking the SAT's in the spring. My top choices are Yale, Princeton and Stanford. I'm also looking at LACs such as Amherst and Pomona.
This thread's been dead for a while so I hope someone will respond, haha!

Cool stuff! Was it difficult to sort everything out with your school? And how did you translate official documents like your transcript and such? What kind of connections to Ivies do you have?

It was pretty difficult, especially because Dutch schools have absolutely no clue how to help you, you have to figure it out all by yourself.. I have connections at Ivies because my brother studies at Princeton. If you want you can send me a PM (in Dutch or English, whatever you want ) If you need some help/tips in applying etc

I have a conversation with my school counselor tomorrow, and she basically knows nothing about applying to a foreign university. I guess the conversation will mostly be about all the things she and certain teachers will have to do for me, haha. I do get support from my parents, but just like you, I have to figure everything out myself. I'd like to send you a PM, but my post count must be over 15 before I can do that.

Hey cebolleta, how do you mean? Transcripts is your diploma, your final report, your grades from years 4, 5 and 6 and your list with subjects you took (if I am right). Or isn't that your question?
rkooier, don't expect too much from the conversation tomorrow, he/she won't know anything important. How serious are you about studying in the US? What is your level (VWO?) Is you are really serious I can give you my email address or you can just wait until you have 15 posts |

Have any of you had your grades converted to North American grades by World Education Services? I am looking for an example of a conversion since the WES website doesn't include conversions for 6.5 and 7.5. Also the conversion on the WES website seems to be very different from most other sources, including NUFFIC.
Thanks.
