Hi! I know I'm being overly apprehensive; but could you guys just list the universities which SURELY don't require the June Common Test/ Mid-Year scores for Singapore students, and some for which you're sure they do. I emailed my school counselor and, pure TJC style, he just told me exams are always important and well, I should work very hard for them! LOL! So, not much info there... Please just LIST the univs which you're sure of in two columns. Thanks thanks thanks a LOT, guys! I owe you big for all the help!

And sorry for asking again... and again... and again... but it really matters to me...!

Univs that require JCTs:

Tuna. -_-

Don't require: Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, UVA, UMich, UIUC

Require: Berkeley

Anw who knows for sure? They may not need the transcript for one person, but ask for it for another person who's a "borderline case"?

Yes, it's in the app form for Berkeley. If you don't fill them in, you can't submit it.

Anw, I almost submitted an app to UChicago (but changed my mind last minute 'cos I couldn't come up with interesting enough essays for the weird prompts); I sent in the teacher recs and transcripts already, and no, my CT did not put in the CT grades.

"This Mid-Year School Report form is to be used to report the applicant’s grades for the most recent term or marking period of the current school year."

I totally have no idea, but if the sentence states so I would think it's fine. Can you please, please start asking your guidance counselor about this? They really should know more about this than us n00b in this forum.

students from JCs don't need to send in the Midyear report. that's for students who are actually STILL in school around the time admission decisions are made. you'll be completing your final exams and graduating from high school in november; colleges will usually make their decisions based on the grades you've already received (such as promos, prelims) as well as predicted grades. A levels, they might ask for those when the results are out, but it depends. not always.

Regarding point #2, you can always fly back earlier, get the notes from your friends, and study earlier you know.. If you're THAT scared of not being able to make it to Harvard. What's 2 weeks more in India compared to that??

well... i booked jet airways for going back and they do not have a single flight upto june 19th... and our exams start on the 23rd... so yeah... it's not about harvard or anything... if you're trying to be sarcastic or something... it's just that i'm in a really bad position... and i guess NO decent university would want someone with Bs and Cs and Ds... so yeah... and that's precisely why i'm asking... if JCTs were very very very important; which seeing the response and asking other TJC people don't seem to be, i would have had to take some other airline and blown a neat 600-700 bucks on that...

please don't get me wrong guys... i'm not trying to be annoying or anything of that order... just that i don't want one mistake to screw up things for me... if you guys think i'm a bit over the top... well... i guess i'll just not post in this thread anymore, if that's what you're going at...

Hahah it's okay, chill, nobody's mad at you... I think you just need to relax more, about the JCT and all.. If you're good, then you're good. One examination won't change anything much.
