Haha yes, we also have mandatory military service which makes a lot of sense...
After all, we're surrounded by such aggressive countries as LIECHTENSTEIN and Austria!

How do you feel throughout the military service there?

Most Singaporeans feel rather resentful towards the national service, and resign themselves to do the bare minimum.

Yeah there has been quite a lot recently. Is it me or is there like significantly more deaths this year?

I dunno leh. From what I read seems like those guys didn't have any warning signs. Like the obese recruit who walked 35 min for 1.2 km then collapsed suddenly. Hmmm... At least the death rate in the SG army ain't as high as the US army in Iraq (flame me for my invalid comparisons...)

If we go to war, 25% will migrate immediately, 25% will suddenly develop halting disabilities, 25% will deflect and fight for the opposing army (as PAP's foreign talent strategy backfires) and the last 25% will get slaughtered.

There's a survey on the SAF intranet forums--the majority of NSFs' attitude is indeed of doing the bare minimum. Though the selection of surveyees may have been biased.
