Community college, and then transferring?

I do realise that financial aid for transfer applicants are limited as it is. There's even less available for international applicants. I get it.

That, and correct me if I'm wrong, but only "top colleges" offer financial aid/scholarships for international transfers. Which means acceptances rates in the single digits. Probably <5%.

That said...

Are there any international students(or do you know of any), who have succeeded in transferring to a 4-year college and received sufficient aid to attend?

When looking through old posts, I saw a member who transferred from Carleton to Dartmouth. According to him, his high school grades weren't all that, but I reckon he may have been exaggerating with his descriptions, for they should have been good enough for him to get into Carleton. That's the only successful international transfer applicant I've seen on college confidential.

With my grades being what they are, I may actually have a better shot at getting in somewhere as a transfer applicant. But then again, I could be completely wrong.

I know a girl who transferred from a Russian university to MHC and received great FA. Her scores weren't stellar, so I believe it's possible Don't know about her grades though...

Some of women's colleges seem somewhat easier to transfer into, than their counterparts. (i.e, the other top schools which offer aid to international students)

Thanks for your post. :-)
