Hey,
I'm an international student planning on enrolling into an USA university for the Fall 2013 session. I need some help deciding which state (and which Uni) to get into.

First of all, it has to be a warm state where it does not snow or gets below zero temperatures. I am very allergic to cold and I don't think I will be able to cope with that kind of weather. I'm planning on studying Computer Science. Also, I'm not much of a party person so I don't really mind quieter campuses.

With that said I have been looking at California, and have selected Cal Poly and Chico State to apply to. But its quite expensive to study in Cali so I would like to apply to some other states where I can study for around $20,000 a year.

I've also taken a look at Louisiana Tech and University of Louisiana at Monroe and they are more cost-efficient for me, though I'm not sure how good they will be for me (and my major) or what the overall environment there is like.

I have a 3.3 GPA on my O and A levels and my SAT results are due this month and I'm expecting 1800+.

So, would you guys want to recommend me some campuses?

I think you can learn to appreciate the cold , here is why :

I was working in california after my Bachelor degree(under OPT) I then look for an MBA .... it range from $75000 to $100000 in a state university..... I dont even talk about private where the cost can easily be beyond $100000.

But then I decide I wanted a good education ( Business School Accredited AASCB) and I can live in the cold if it can allow me to save 20 to 30000 dollars a year .

I have found for an MBA program accredited AASCB ( possibility to do the program in 12-15 months) with international tuition under $25000:

Eastern Washington University
University of South Dakota
University of Nebraska Kearney

Plus the cost of living is low in this area. With the 15000-20000 dollars that you would save per year you can pay several trip to warm places !


California is great but they are taking advantage of the international student and litterally steal their money , the US it is 50 states and you will find good eduation every where .

I have some cold states as backup.

But I really need to know if there are any warm states with low living costs for me.

You might find some in Texas or Louisiana ( but in Lousiana it's more moist and heavy warm) but if I were you I will focus on price and quality , because when the tuition are low it means the cost of living ( rent food etc...) are low too.

Once you graduate you can still go find a job in California or Florida for your OPT but for the studies try to be wise . And the cold you get used to it believe it s not that bad after a while

I have looked into Louisiana Tech and University of Louisiana at Monroe and will probably be applying to those two. If you have any information on these two, or would like to suggest some other campuses, please do so.

And which Universities would you suggest for Computer Science in the cold states (within $20k/year for full cost of attendance)?
