The intl admissions dean actually came over to ours and told us that law, medicine, education and business are the most popular choices so correspondingly the toughest to get in admissions wise. Don't think they were as keen on ECAs to be honest, he also said that the average IB points for the top four majors were around 40 to 42...I know someone who was predicted 45 got a 44 and started med school at HKU so I imagine the caliber will be similar for law as well. Does anybody know if all offers are conditional at these unis?

@dub Haha very similar school choices for both of us, I was also a Cambridge applicant until I realized a 776 in my HLs weren't going to happen before the 15th of October...did you apply as a Law major to all your UCAS schools? Did you get any offers back yet?

^I applied for PPE, not law. No offers yet, no.
EDIT: Also yes. If applying with predicted grades, offers are all conditional.

From what I have heard, your sat and IB scores are both low to be SECURE, not saying you don't have a chance. Apparently sports do not help that much, but gaining a medal or two in debate, Model UN or mock trial should be good for law
Also, I heard that HKU engineering school has a lot lower requirements in comparison with Law and medicine....so good luck to all of us!

@hongkonggirl yea it was directed to you...but please don't take my words as 100% truth, since I don't control the admission people lol. I am thinking of applying to LLB, but my grades are not as good so planning on applying to something else. Any suggestions?

Haha...I am applying to Harvard.
But I have a feeling BBA Law might be a tough shot for me, even considering that.
Anyone else wanna offer their take?
