UK to Study in US - Few questions.

Hi All,

This is my first post so apologies if this isn't in the correct forum, I can't seem to find a more appropriate section.

I am looking to choose a US college/university to study a major in Nutrition & Dietetics starting next fall. I am a UK citizen but I have been to the US before twice. The people were extremely good to me and I respect the country, I'd like to study there for a variety of reasons, i'd love to be in sports nutrition at the end of it.

To take this career path I need to find an ACEND accredited college course( this is the academy of nutrition and dietetics in the US, the most recognized/only establishment). I know where to look for these and have a few in mind.

I don't believe I need to do a TOEFL exam because I've been schooled in England, is that correct?

Are there any types of on-line qualifications I can do which will bolster my application or display high levels of academic talent?

I graduated high school here obviously but I would be going for an undergrad in the US.

I am also thinking about California as the place i'd like to study, are living expenses there easier to accommodate than the east coast?

Since you have a list of the accredited programs, search those university websites for information about international admissions. There should be clear indications about the exams that each place requires. Use the search features to find the estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) for international students to get a general notion of your possible costs. For more specific estimates, run the Net Price Calculator (NPC) for each place. Please remember that there isn't a lot if financial aid for international students, so speak with your parents about how much they can pay.

Thanks for the reply happymomof1.

Yeah I am anticipating its going to be super expensive. I have been looking at financial aid but really it doesn't look likely and its not something I would expect to be easy to come by either. I am going to dig around, app and email because ANY support would be great. Nothing to lose.
