since yuh is a trini i will try to help you out quickly....well at least the way my school did it:
cxc grade 1 -4.0, 2-3.0,3-2.0, 4-1.0....add all and well find the average
and well a levels i'm assuming a levels is the same just a-4.0, b-3.0 and so on...but cape calcuates a gpa for you. grade 1-4.0, 2-3.5, 3-3.0...and so on...if you did cape you should get some kinda associate degree i think
