| Am I considered an international student? i've lived in california most of my life. my parents pay taxes in california, we have an address there, and we go back every summer. but i've been going to an international school in china for all of my high school years, and i'll be graduating here. i have a US passport only. |

| you can't post a message less than 10 characters long (well you can if you know HOW), so people usually post messages less than 10 characters long by using "(10 chars)".
Oh yeah, you're an US applicant as aw5k said.. |

| Well if you have a US passport, you will not be seen as an international student. You won't even be in the pool of international students if you were born outside of the US but have a green card or a resident status. Your nationality will be based on the passport you are holding. Of course there will be some exception if you have dual citizenship |

| Good point Rister!
Maybe (s)he used the search function and replied without checking the date of the original post? That happened to me once. Let's be nice to a newbie and assume that it was an accident |

| Since hpfanatic is a newbie, s(he) probably won't check back here lol. Sorry for digging this up again.
No, it's not my troll ID haha.
Just to clarify: Every school has their own policy. While I was considered a US citizen, some schools compared me to other students within my 'area' (give or take a couple hundred miles...). |

| I am just like you, except I went to high school in India. We're basically in the same boat though because my family has a house in the US, we pay taxes in the US, my dad works in the US, I am a US citizen etc. etc. I applied to 7 schools and none of them considered me an international student. |
