UIUC vs UMich vs UT Austin- Engineering..Help Choose

UIUC vs UMich vs UT Austin- Engineering..Help Choose

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I am from India, presently interested in Computer/ Electrical engineering and have got confirmations from UIUC, UT Austin & Purdue.....UMich results awaited and am in the usual dilemmna....which school to confirm to?

UIUC & UMich costwise/weatherwise are similar, Purdue is costs slightly less, weather similar.

UT Austin is economical & weather is also mild.

But my main factors in choosing a college are: Good Undergrad engineering program/ faculty and reputation of the institute.

Kindly help to decide. Thanks

UIUC has outstanding resources for Computer Engineering. They host the National Center of Supercomputation. Life in Champaign is very economical and is only 2hours from Chicago. UT is cheap but life in Austin is very expensive.
The wheater in Champaign (UIUC) and Ann Arbor (UM) are very different. In Ann Arbor winter starts in september.

I have been also recommended: If one happens to go all the way upto PhD, then UIUC should be the 1st choice. Comments?

Of those three, University of Michigan is probably the most well known for having a good overall undergraduate academic program.
