Help with applying to US colleges

hey guys,
basically i want to apply this fall to several us colleges but i still have some trouble understanding the system...

first of all the common application... do i have to register there and fill it out online or can i print it and send it in an envelope instead (does this work for all colleges?)? what if some colleges have additional supplement material? what if i want to include some more things on my common application? can i add another sheet (this wouldn't work I would apply online...)
regarding my teacher and high school reports, can they be submitted online as well or do i need to send them by mail into the states? do i have to send everything together?

thanks for your help!

1. Yes, you have to register online on the Common App website.

2. You can send it online or by mail. However, some colleges are all in one, which means that if you submit your app online, you have to submit your supplement online too.

3. If you want to include extra material, you can mail it to them even if you submitted your app online.

4. Teacher and counselor recs are available online on the Common App. Print them out and give them to your teachers/counselor, then mail them.

5. Everything need not be sent together. You can send everything bit by bit if you want. However, it would make sense to mail everything that you're going to mail them together, that would save you money.

If by "can i add another sheet" you meant things that you'd first type up on your computer, then you have "Additional information" section where you can attach a Word document.
