ED is game

* tires to address the whole thread at large *

^ I got in ED with 100% FA at Gettysburg college. Yeah - whole 47k of it. So I'll contradict your statement and advice all international students to apply ED to colleges that offer FA in ED to international students (only a handful like Dickinson, Gettysburg and Bates actually do). The worst that can happen? Transfer to the RD pool. So try it. And good luck.

Is there anything for int'l grad students?

I'm wondering if there are any governmental sites that offer similar advice for graduate students.

Thanks for the link! I've been looking for information just like that!

I'm new here and have absolutely no idea where I should post this, so I thought I'd just take my chances posting it here in case anyone can help!

I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with a link or information about teaching degrees in America? Something like the American equivelant of a PCGE, if there even is one! I have no idea where to start looking to find out about what such courses would entail! Or maybe just direct me to the appropriate forum to post this question?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help

College Application Essay Contest

Prizes*:
1st prize: 3000 HKD
2nd prize: 2000 HKD
3rd prize: 1000 HKD
47 other top essays: 300 HKD each
Dear Student,
A team of college students (Princeton, Harvard, U Penn, Columbia, Northwestern, Stanford) from Asia is seeking college application essay submissions from students from Asia** who are studying in US or UK universities, or recent high school graduates who will study in US or UK universities. Many high school students in Asia who are applying to colleges in the US or UK face a relative lack of resources in crafting their college applications and especially essays. As students who have been through the exact same process recently, you can help the generation of students after you and make a positive and meaningful impact in their lives. We are looking for personal statements and creative essays in particular, and you are welcome to submit more than one essay.
If selected, your essay will be in a book named “50 Outstanding College Application Essays from Asia,” the first compilation of college application essays specifically serving high school students in Asia. Submitters can choose to be anonymous. If you submit your essay(s), regardless of whether you are selected, as a token of our appreciation, you will be provided with free admissions to all Ivy Gate –a student-run college counseling company sponsoring this contest– networking events around Asia, in which you can meet and mingle with hundreds of students and alumni from top US and UK universities. If your essay is selected to be in the book, you will also receive a prize of 300 HKD and a copy of the book once it is published. If you are selected as the 1st prize winner, 2nd prize winner or 3rd prize winner, you will receive 3000 HKD, 2000 HKD or 1000 HKD respectively.***
Essays will be judged for creativity, coherence, clarity of expression, originality, and sophistication of ideas and writing. The judges include staff members or former staff members of major college newspapers (The Harvard Crimson, The Daily Pennsylvanian, Columbia Spectator).****
To submit your college application essays, please email info@ivy-gate.com with your essays as document attachments by August 13. Please also kindly provide us with the name of the college you attend. We will notify you of the results as soon as possible.
Thank you very much!
*The exchange rate of 1USD:1HKD is approximately 7.75 and a payment can be made in USD upon request.
**”Students from Asia” means students who graduated from a high school located in Asia. This includes students of non-Asian ethnicities and nationalities. ”Asia” includes Northern Asia, Central Asia, Western Asia (including Egypt), Southern Asia, Eastern Asia, and Southeastern Asia
***The payment will be made after the book is published.
****This contest is not affiliated with, and does not represent, college newspapers such as the Harvard Crimson, the Daily Pennsylvanian, and the Columbia Spectator.

I got in EA with 82% FA at Colby-Sawyer College. So I'll advice all international students who need substantial financial aid to apply to Colby-Sawyer. And the following articles may be interesting to you.

that's great that you got FA. congrats invincible bunny
I think as internationals the problem is to know which college is generous enough and also could offer the major. I'm not familiar with thousands of colleges in US

@ invinciblebunny: I highly doubt your above statements. Here's what I gather from different sources:

Costs
Tuition and fees (2008-09) $29,620; room and board, $10,340 (on campus).
Financial Aid
Non-need financial aid available. 5 international students on campus received college administered financial aid ($11,584 average).

It's obvious, then, that Colby-Sawyer is VERY mean toward international students, don't you think?
