Omg, I just remembered that all the '13-ers on this thread have already jetted off to their destinations :P ..and so I'm back! XD lol. So any '14-ers busy with SAT atm? TBH, I haven't been on here for so long because I just gave up on the dream for a while but it was revived after talking to an old friend on facebook who's apparently at Harvard '13 now XP The nerd.. lol. I seem to give up on it a lot though and I'm currently wondering if it's even worth it..

Wow, didn't mean to get depressing! Haha.. So anyone busy with SAT (I)? (:

Don't worry about Harvard. There are better schools in the world. You don't need to go to Ivy League. If you really want to, do so for your graduate studies and try to obtain a Menzies Scholarship in order to do thus.

I haven't even prepared fro the SAT. I don't even know when or where it is held. I want to take the exam though, just for the experience.

Wow, that comment was heaps helpful kittikhun.. And I'm actually not in the least bit interested in Harvard.. Aside from the obvious prestige attached to the name, it doesn't specialize in anything I'm interested in and quite frankly can't seem myself there at all. >.<

But yes, I'm definitely planning to take the SAT but rather than do grad. studies overseas, I'd rather get the undergraduate experience first then com back and do grad. studies in good old Aussieland XD lol. Thanks for the input though - greatly appreciated! (:

Thank god this thread isnt dead because I'm putting together my application for early admission etc and I'm having issue with the high school transcript! So is it just a list of your grades/ranks from yrs 9-12? Does it include teachers' comments and information about the rigour of the course - partcularly for intl students?? Is there actually a form to fill this information in or is this a document that's prepared by the high school!? My high school is really clueless about preparing a transcript for me, so how many pages should it be and does it need to have school letterhead/stamp etc for it to be official? Any input would be much appreciated!! Sorry if my questions are a bit silly.

@carpediem: Yes 'm busy with SAT IIs so getting a bit stressed Have to remind myself to breathe!

Naww, good luck Aininor! And at least you've probably stayed at the one school I transferred this year and lost my yr 9 and 10 reports =[[
Not to mention my grades last semester were ATROCIOUS and not bad by CC standards (Oh noess! I got an A-!) but BAD bad. Wow, I sound bitter. Hahaha. XD.

And @beeish, I think I've narrowed it down to five-ish. Pomona College, Wesleyan U, George W. Uni, um... Ha, can't remember :\ Trying not to aim too hiiiiiiiiigh or too loooooow. (:

Hey.... First post on CC, pretty much a lurker, but decided i should post....

I will be applying to MiT next year and the year after seeing as im currently in year 10 and hoping to have 2 shots at MiT
ats:
I was just curious of how i was going leading up to next year, although i havent done my SAT and SAT subject, i will be doing SAT in December (also when we have school exams) and expecting 760 - 800 and above on everything. Also been told that i am probably getting a TER of 99 and above from my previous exam results.

-Location: Perth, WA.
-School: Public but it is the only academic specialist school in the state, basically everyone is the school is doing a grade higher then they would be. (just changed schools, use to go to the local intake school on a sport and academic scholarship, ranked 1st in class)
-Ethnicity: Caucasian
-Gender: F
-Hook: Lived in a country mining town (yay kangaroos!) for the first 5 years then moved to the hills just out of the city then moved into the suburbs....? Not sure about this...
Grade: year 10, just turned 15.

ECs are:
-5th and 9th in the country for Track Cycling.
-20th in the country for Triathlons.
-Community service at a local native animal clinic (any injured native animals)
-Self taught year 11 TEE physics in year 9
-Currently teaching my self year 12 Astronomy
-Solar car Club at school.
-Top 1% in state in maths since year 1
-Top 1% in state in science since year 8
-Currently doing Hockey (8-9 times a week when in season, off season around 3, Am playing with Hockeyroos in the top grade in the state seniors.), Zen Do Kai 2 times a week, Muay Thai 2 times a week and Kick Boxing 1 times a week)
-Robotics team, competed at States.
-Champion Cross country, Athletics and swimmer since year 5 till now also gaining a silver/gold medal in interschool.
-Help organize the first Children's fun run in the state for sick children in cooperation with Perth Glory soccer club (yes i know they are losing :P) I help to recruit children and set out and organize the course, then was the lead out rider.
- Also the team captain of Cricket, Swimming, X country, Athletics, Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, Netball, Soccer in year 6 and 7, As well as school leader and house leader.
- Was junior hockey club captain in U15's for 2 years even though i was a year younger then everyone.
- 4th in the state in both Cycling time trial and road championship (only started a year ago)
-Numerous national high distinctions in Science and maths.
- Silver medal in the Individual pursuit in Track Cycling
- Peer leader for year 8's in school
- Maths and Science tutor for students needing help.

I think a laundry listed.....

Thats all. Any comments? Wanting to apply in year 11 so i could start in year 12, as i kinda want to just get out of Perth and high school, if i don't get in i will just do TER and apply in year 12 to start the year after....

Sorry if this is a privacy thing but do you go to Perth Mod. by any chance? (: Again, sorry if you didn't want that getting out but.. um, okay yeah haha..

And sorry but you need your high school graduation certificate so yeah, you kind of do need to finish year 12. Sucky as that is.. haha. Don't worry, I live in Perth too. Boring, I know :P

You've got really good EC's but you might wanna play up a few things and leave it at that. Like maybe your Hockey because you seem quite dedicated to that (:

Sorry I can't be more help. I'm only in year 11 myself and just as lost if not more than you.. hehe lol XD

You've got awesome stats! But yeah, you do need to finish year 12. I wish i could get out of high school already too, i'm in yr 11 and a year older than most of my peers and i'm so sick of this boring routine but we gotta deal with it. Haha.

Hehe carpe, Pomona college! That's one of my top choices too. I've not narrowed my list down at all but i've got a pretty good idea in my head lol. *sigh* they're all so hard to get into. I've looked at LAC the most as i really like it. My only concern is that a lot of them have less people than my high school and i don't wanna feel 'trapped' for four years...
