Hey sora2712
Oh you are? Cool! When did you move to aussie? Well, you are staying away from CC, which is a good idea lol. Thanks about the chance post lol.
I recommend the Official SAT Practise Tests from Collegeboard (there are two.) They are official and are really good indicators of what your real score will look like.

okay, obviously my ban failed. but i came back on facebook to post all my graduation pics. so i deem it a legitimate excuse. so why not cc. lol.
ANYHOW.
victorkangnz, i came to australia when i was... one and a half? lol. but im fluent in korean, i can read and write and all that shiz.
and with the practice tests: barrons is good too, but it kills your ego. the bluebook is the bible, its the right level, i think. and the kaplan maths book is really good for straight SAT question revision, for those of you that arent used to the simple multiple choice Qs.
im telling you, first try i got 690/800, second time i got 770/800 in the maths section. =]

Hey guys, I'm looking at the common app and the secondary school report and the mid year and final report looks the same to me - so what's the difference - is it okay if the counsellor fills in the same information and write same evaluation...? And since in Aus we've graduated already, do we bother with mid-year report? And I'm planning to put the same marks down for the final report and secondary school report - is that okay?

Hope people cna clarify!! Hate all these paperwork

DOn't need to do mid year report, only final. At least I think thats what I did last year... best thing to do is email/call the admissions depts of the schools you are applying to and ask

yup, if you've finished school i.e. graduated with the ceremony and all, you just send in your final report... but i think the midyear report gets counted in the transcript, so meh... not sure about that, though.

i should be studying for anc. hsc tmrw, but meh. just came back from officeworks to print out my mycenaean notes and photocopy my reports for application transcript -
re-iterating above question:
for our high school transcript, we just photocopy our year 9~12 reports, right?
but do we include our halfyearly reports in here/ or just our yearly reports...
because i think there'd be too much paperwork in my app if i include halfyearly reports in my transcript as well...
and do we include our school cert results as well?

I sent in everything... I sent in my half yearly reports my yearly reports and my school certificicate results AND I got them signed and stamped by my careers advisor to make them look "official" for the official transcript, you can also get them signed by a JP or if you want to spend the money a notary at the consulate

holymolycows. im gonna be sending in a THICK wad of report paper. ahwell.
midyear reports included it is then. sigh. is this what US schools do for their high school 'transcripts' too?
my transcript alone includes:
yearly and half yearly reports from year 9~12 inclusive.
my school cert results.
my work experience letter of recommendation thing
and my hsc results when i get them in december, and my atar.
+ teacher references and counselor reference. SO MUCH PAPERWORK. AND im applying online. lol.
hey, btw, can anyone tell me how important the writing section of the SAT is?
i was perusing the harvard site just out of interest, and they dont list the middle range of SAT score for the writing... or maybe i missed it.
