Lyrics for everyone:
Relax, take it easy,
For there is nothing that we can do.
Relax, take it easy,
Blame it on me or blame it on you.

Congrats Tetris! You must be a great applicant if they've let you know so early!
Are there any Croats among 2014ers?
Is anyone applying ED to Connecticut College?

Hey guys. I didn't do the test because I ended up getting swine flu. SIGH. Oh well. I have spoken to Yale and they said it's fine for me to just do RD instead and they unsubmitted my supplement so I can select RD and resubmit it.
Thank you so much for all your support, I love you guys *group hug*
AND I just decided to apply to Mt Holyoke College. So Quasi, if you go to Amherst and I end up at MHC we could totes be neighbours |

Thanks, I'm definitely feeling better than I was yesterday, that was horrible. I'm not feversome anymore thankfully. Just got the horrible cold/cough/sore throat nonsense. Sigh. But at least I get some time off work
Dude, those prompts are so good. I kind of wish I was applying to UMich just so I could do one of them. If I was slightly more of a nerd than I currently am I might just write one for fun. But I have like 10 other essays that I HAVE to write, and the rational part of my brain tells me I should do the essential ones first before indulging in essays for enjoyment..

Haha. Either way, you'd have to write these essays only after getting into LSA, so you technically could still apply and write 'em honors essays in like...April |

Not applying for financial aid anywhere. I don't think UMich offers need-based aid for internationals. They DO have scholarships, though.
Honors is basically a specialized section within the university for the most academically accomplished underclassmen. At UMich, you get dibs on the cool dorms, dibs on picking classes, and the chance to take cool honors versions of intro classes (Intro Psych has 400 kids, Honors Intro Psych has 20 kids). So...you can see why I want to apply and get in. That would make UMich a helluva lot more enticing even if I don't get in anywhere |

Oooooooh I unnerstand. I knew it was something for the clever kids but didn't know what exactly. That sounds awesome though. Clearly you're good enough for that
Even on the chance that you didn't get accepted anywhere else (naturally, I think you will, but this is hypothetical) do you like it enough to accept the place there? And if you do get in elsewhere, where does UMich come in your list of favourites?

Michigan is 12th on my (current) list of 12. Howeverrrrr, I absolutely don't hate it: I think it's a fantastic place and would be pretty stoked to go there, it's just that I like 11 places a lot better (but expect those 11 to change over two weeks if I don't make it on December 15th).

Congratulations Tetris! You have some pretty nice safety right there!
I am so dying under a pile of work. Aargh. I have to read 26 books (!) before December 1;
prepare for my schools exams, SAT IIs, probably a SAT I retake, work on my British AND American applications and my ECs, finish two research projects... And work on my job.
Yes, yes, yes. And I haven't even procrastinated this time!

Malik, DO NOT LET THE CHANCE THREADS GET TO YOU. I freakin hate chance threads. I'm currently airing my grievances on the Yale forum about them.
Argh GuiltyBystander I feel ya! But at least for the British application you don't have to do different essays for each school, that will help you a little!
I have done absolutely nothing productive today. Loves it.
