to class of 2010 (add to this list)

A. Apply to as many schools as you possibly can. 15-20-25, just apply coz they cant offer you admission, if you dont apply

B. Dont apply for financial aid unless you need it or more than you need it

C. Do PR with college admission office, admission counsellors, current students, alumni, etc. That is the most under-rated tactic of the whole admission process.

D. Start your essays the summer of senior year becse you are not goign to get time to do them properly after it.

E. Even if you apply to 10-15 colleges ( ideal number i would say ) be sure to apply to some good safeties as well no matter how good your stats are not everyone gets into hymps. You are sure to get a quality education as well as lots of scholarships

F. If you have the finances be sure to apply Ea/ Ed to your favorite schools.

G. visit the Indian thread from time to time ! Somewhere in those pages you will find awesome information !

wats that???
PR = public relations. like making sure that the adcoms have heard about you and know you before they sit down to review your file. it could be through genuine emails with questions, phone calls for acknowledgement of certain thing, thank you notes, etc. etc.

I passed!!!i passed!!! not only did i pass...i freakin kickedass on the f u c k a l l HSC exam!!!wooooooooooohoooooooooooo (well kickedass relative to the amount of effort i put in that is...haha)

*applause dies down*

victory speech- "i would like to thank my countless tuition teachers, and their wonderful coaching classes- 3 out of 4 which i walked out off, becuase they were so crappy, and i would like to thank the Education ministry of maharashtra for not cancelling the exam altogether, like their counterparts in Tamil Nadu, and last and the least i'd like to thank the wonderful book worms in my college who slogged their asses for 2 years and got AN AMZING INCREDIBLE MIND BOGGLING absolutely worthless (because this exam doesnt count for any admissions) 10% more than me
im ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahah

and yes to the class of 2010-

dont apply to Wharton unless your very well connected.
essays are the key.
STAY IN TOUCH WITH ADMISSIONS OFFICERS!!! CONSTANTLY EMAIL THEM!!!i sent 200 emails to 18 admissions officers over a span of 5 months...

best of luck everyone

depends...i applied to 25 and plan to attend the uni. which was the 25th that i heard back from. if i were to do it all over again, i'd still apply to 25

my photo j/k i think it was consistency of depicting myself. my essays, ecs, etc. reinforced what my teachers wrote in the recos
