yes, but they have thresholds for that. Last year my friend applied to 28 colleges, where he was waived from TOEFL and subject tests. But his score was 2230 on SATs

the toefl is waved in amherst if you score above 700 in CR. i don't know abt the others very well, but in colleges of lower stature, the CR score needed is well below that. 650 would probably waive the toefl requirements in many.

do you guys know what to do if you're studying the toefl yourself. I've got 3 weeks, and i've hadn't even thought abt it until now.
ccprofile, you just gave the toefl? Congrats! i wonder when i'll be able to put on my seatbelt and race through the subject test preparations....this toefl is a great distractor.

Even 1 week of practice is sufficient. All you need to do is get accustomed to the test. So, don't worry and best of luck. Personally I took only 3 practice tests and two of them were on the day right before the test.

@Duke99:Yeah TOEFL requirement in most of the universities can be waived if you have a great CR,rather than composite, score.

if CR score is needed........then there is no choice but to give the toefl at this moment isn't it. i mean the SAT is in october and november is 1 or 15 is the deadline for the ED.
so toefl has to be given before SAT isn't it?
