I think the most prestigious Swedish universities are the Royal Institute of Technology and the Stockholm School of Economics (my dad's alma mater).

some great colleges in Asia, in no particular order

Seoul University (Korea)
Yonsei University (Korea)
Tokyo University (Japan)
Kyushu University (Japan)
Kyoto University (Japan)
Osaka University (Japan)
National Taiwan Univ (Taiwan)
Tsing Hua University (China)
Korea Advanced Institue Science & Technology
Hebrew University Jerusalem (Israel)

a following link has a world ranking created by chinese university (or student, i am not sure). it's very flawed, but if you just want to be familiar with some of them, i guess it can give you ball park name recognizations of colleges worldwide.

http://ed.sjtu.edu.cn/rank/2004/top500list.htm

but be aware, the world ranking 2 and 20 might not have no difference (or maybe reversed) in terms of true academic strenght and undergraduate focuse and so on.

well, if duh already mentioned Israel unis so I can add:
1. TAU (Tel Aviv Univresity), this one has a great reputaion in mathematics and computer science (my major actually).
2.The Technion (Haifa Institue of Technology), this one has a world reputaion in science, even got 2 Noble prize winners (which is very honerable once considering the fact it only exists for about 40 years, maybe a bit more)

with in Israel the big 3 are: the Hebrew univeristy (Jerusalem), TAU and Technion, all 3 considered the best Israel has to offer.

In France:

Ecole Polytechnique (top 3 Engineering university in Europe)
Sorbonne (top 3 university in Europe for the Humanities)
Science Po (top 3 university in Europe for the Social Sciences)
Universite de Paris - Sud 11 (top 3 University in Europe for the Sciences)

France has many other excellent schools, but those four are the ones that come to mind.
