| Common Application questions Hi guys,
I was filling out the common app and then I came to theschool report, mid year report and teacher evaluation pdfs.
the school report asks for stuff like GPA and level of courses and also evaluation of the student, but in my school, the official transcript is prepared by the administation, who are obviously not fit to write about my personal qualities, so do I just attach the official transcript and send it off or what?
Also for intl students is it possible to send recs and school reports as they are given to us(on separate sheets of paper) and not on the provided forms?
This is a question for those who are applying through the common app this year and those who used it last year. |

| havaldar,
Look dude for every school the admins. prepare the transcript. So that is no prob. Just attach your attested transcript and then give the form to your counsellor (which could be a guidance counsellor, class teacher or principal)..get it. |

| I sent the recs on separate sheets of paper and I believe this wasn't a problem at all. |

| i filled parts of the form, including my gpa, my class rank, and course levels by myself in a "trial copy" of the counselor evaluation form. and then gave the trial copy together with other blank counselor evaluation forms to my class teacher. My class teacher knew me but she rarely saw my transcript or my other numerical info so I thought it would be helpful if I ran in and out of the admin room to get the info right for her and left the rest of the form for her own opinion. |

| some of my teachers gave me their recs on a separate sheet and I just stapled them onto the common application teacher evaluation form. The teachers did fill out the sheet except for the blank part at the back where there is supposed to be a text, however. |

| Cheesecake_junkie, that's exactly what my teacher did too.
She filled out the common app form, but left the part for comments blank, and stapled her own letter of reccomendation to the common app form. |

| It depends on your own case. You can just write the adcoms and tell them why you cannot submit the required form(s), or even if your house got flooded or fired so you can't make it on time. They are quite understanding. This can be just an email (but not for schools that directly state that they are not good at dealing with emails from applicants such as Rice and Cornell). Be sure to include your full name, date of birth and admission ID, if applicable.
After the December 26 tsunami, I got some emails from adcoms informing me that I could let them know if I was affected, and that I was allowed to take 2 more weeks if I was. So let them know reasonably. |
