I've never every met anyone here who has transferred. I'm not sure it's possible at any UK school. Things don't work like that here. It's very different. There are however, many students doing a year abroad studying through their home inistitution in the states and elsewhere. Google study abroad programmes.

Yeah, Cupcake's right, Oxford doesn't take transfers. If you want to attend you have to start in the first year like everyone else. Just a random thought, but it may be possible to transfer to a Scottish university, as their system in slightly different.

Europeans actually can attend Oxford for an exchange year, so your claim isn't entirely right, cupcake.

Which is exactly what I said. You can attend for a year abroad as part of your home institution, but they don't take *transfers*. Or you can apply for a one year masters. The question specifically was "how often do students do a one year transfer to Oxford?". The answer is never. What dgzgomoo is looking for is a study abroad programme.

it's not really called "transfering for a year"

it's called either a year abroad of visiting students. europeans can do this for free via their university thanks to erasmus, others have to pay their home tution fees at their university at home.
