Satelle, have you considered City Year at all? The application deadline isn't until April 30th! And, it would still be along the vein of education before you apply for the 2013 corps!
Not that you're one to lack options even a little bit, but there's another one for you!

City Year: give a year. change the world.

I've heard great things about City Corps too. Someone in my interview actually did City for a year before getting her masters in public policy before applying to TFA

I've heard awesome things about City Year as well. I have a friend who took a gap year after she graduated from high school to do City Year and loved it. I will definitely consider it as an option if I do not receive good news on Tuesday...

Thanks Satelle! I was thinking there might be one composite list so I didn't have to select different regions. It is great info to know what school you could potentially be partnering with for future applicants.

Add me to the list! I was a late bloomer here, but very much anxious for the final decision Tuesday... definitely ready for the wait to be over.

I'm with you guys!!! I half wanted to e-mail about the early acceptance because I had a chance to sign up for an interview with Chicago Teaching Fellows, but decided I wanted to just wait it out!

Ahhhhh... it is getting so close!

What other back up plans do people have if they don't get in? I just got accepted to a PhD program, so that is my fall back, but I wanted to know what programs and other options people were thinking. I know we have talked about it a bit, but I figured it would be nice to maybe start some chat about it that way if some of us don't get accepted, we know of some other options and opportunities out there for people with a similar mindset!

I applied to Chicago and Rhode Island Teaching Fellows, as well as PhD programs. I had previously applied to TFA in 2010 and got rejected, so I went and got my Masters instead.

I'll say this... when I applied two years ago and got rejected, I was absolutely devastated. However, life does go on and I personally think I am much better off because I didn't get accepted. Being able to take a chance and get my MA really helped reaffirm exactly what I want to do (teach, and then become involved in administration) and also gave me a leg up because teachers with MA degrees get paid a bit more!

I'm constantly waffling over whether I'll be accepted or not... my opinion changes hourly! I'm sure you guys are in the same boat... but I promise, if you don't make it now, it is because there is something else out there for you! It may lead you back to applying to TFA like it did for me, or it could open more opportunities! I don't mean to sound cliched, but I know what it feels like to be rejected by TFA. If someone else who had been rejected had been able to commiserate, I think I would have felt better sooner.

Have heart! Have hope!

ONLY 3 MORE DAYS!

@cinemaniac,

I applied to Denver Teaching Fellows and was accepted but to medical complications with my husband we can only relocate to Los Angeles which led me to TFA because I could request placement in Los Angeles.

I am in the middle of a master's program in Organizational Leadership. If I get denied I will continued working through school and most likely will work in the government sector until next year's application process begins. Most likely I will apply to TFA again. I am not open to relocating outside of LA so I am somewhat limited to teaching fellowships outside of this area. I am looking in to other social responsibility-type programs. If any one has any knowledge of programs in the Los Angeles area I would love to hear about them.

I wish all of you the best of luck!

Has anyone else's transitional funding status updated or changed? What are your thoughts on it changing? is it indicative of a pending approval or do you think everyone's transitional funding is reviewed?

Yes Smarques, we are so close; can you believe it? I really hope we all get accepted. Having the ability to access a forum like this, where I can cope with my anxiety alongside people equally as passionate about a common goal has truly been wonderful.
