Is it possible to get an internship at RAND as an undergrad?

On the website, they have a graduate summer program, but nothing about undergrads.

you can always email and ask / volunteer your services... I would think the chances are slim though.

That said, there are lots of places that do similar work that take undergrads.

RAND is one of those few places that really places a premium on employees with masters degrees/PhDs. Even looking at the specified entry-level positions they prefer you to have a PhD, although they might consider a well qualified candidate with a masters degree. Don't even bother trying, the website says "the program does not hire undergraduates." As soccerguy said, look elsewhere. There are tons of other similar places that actually hire undergrads.

tons of think tanks in DC... they all do research and analysis on a variety of topics. You are looking for a defense related think tank, most likely, since that seems to be what RAND is most known for.

if you are interested in security stuff, CSIS, Brookings Institution, USIP, CNAS are some of the more well-known ones. Just google "international security think tank" and tons more will come up. This is one such comprehensive site http://thinktanks.fpri.org/
