@Tiger683 I was also asked if anything would stop me from completing my commitment. I'm not sure that is a clue though. I think it may be a fairly common question.

@ Exitlude

I have also heard that your transitional funding is partially determined by your placement area because they consider the cost of living in that certain area. My understanding is that a "complete" status (while it may not be an indicator of acceptance) means that they have made their decision about you. I could be wrong, but I do know that they award funding partially based on placement area, which means they would have to make a placement (or acceptance or rejection) decision first. This is probably why everyone has been so anxious about the TF status. Atleast, that was part of my reasoning.

@ RShackelford
I said kind of the same thing. They didn't quite ask me specifically about low income schools, but about the intensity of the program. I told them that I was not worried, as I feel that I am well prepared. Currently I am a co-teaching intern in a low income school on weekdays, take a full course load in graduate school, and work 16 hours a week on the weekends. I told them I felt that it would be more of a continuation of my workload rather than a whole new shocking amount of work. I think you did fine!

I interviewed 10.18 and submitted my TF on 10.19.. still under review. I know it's not the end-all-be-all but I can't stop thinking that it's an indicator. Feeling a bit down going into the last week. Fingers still crossed!

We are under one week to go. I feel like a little kid again waiting on my Christmas. Hopefully I get that new video game and not another pair of tube socks. I keep checking the site hoping for a glitch in the system where the results get posted accidentally for a short period of time. Either way I am happy to have made it this far. I told my wife if I did not get it I would go back to school to get my post-Bach in teaching. I would let my current company pay for it slowly.

@StarsThatShine, like someone else stated the previous two threads had such a small sample it is impossible to know at this point. People last year and the year before had their TF change right before they were accepted. Cheer up and enjoy the ride!

@Tiger683 - That was a common question. I wish I knew the proper response.

@TFACLE or some other obscure clothing option that you really don't want but probably need.
@Tiger683 I think that's a common question. Probably trying to judge your tenacity for work that may not always be easy because I also got that question

I was really surprised at how pointed the questions were however it made me feel like they had actually really read my application through thoroughly.

My TF hasn't changed yet and I interviewed on 10/19 Friday. I find that as we get closer to the date, I'm experiencing a sense of calm. Not nearly as manic as I was at the beginning of the week. Or so I say now, haha we'll see how I'm doing by Tues of next week.

Did anyone else sign up, for the text notification? If so, will they text us the decision?

I too feel strangely calmer than I did at the beginning of the week. My TF status still has not changed, however I keep telling myself I shouldn't read too much into the TF status thing. My fingers are crossed, but TFA is not the only way to get into teaching, so I know if I don't get in there are plenty of other options. I've probably severly limited my odds anyway since being a mom and having roots planted firmly in Denver, I pretty much can only accept a Denver offer. Anyone else list Colorado as priority?

I listened to last night's webinar which was actually all about partner organizations... I think they are going to post a recording on the admission's blog if anyone is interested, but it would probably be just as useful to go to the websites of the organizations since the presenters mainly talked about the info that can be found on their websites.

The partner organizations that participated were: The New Teacher Project, Urban Teacher Center, Pearson, and The Minnesota Reading/Math Corps

One of the ladies (can't remember which organization) actually seemed to believe that the webinar was specifically designed for people who didn't get accepted to TFA... haha she actually said something like "we take people who didn't get into TFA all the time, so we're happy to have you!" ... it was actually a super nice gesture, but it was pretty funny/awkward considering we haven't even found out yet.

Overall though, a lot of the programs were interesting- they are definitely something I will consider if not accepted to TFA.

Thought I'd chime in because I have been lurking. I interviewed 10/18 and submitted my TF on 10/10 and am still under review.

@MissJonesy I am in same boat as you. In a Phd program in Ed. Policy in Atlanta so am pretty much confined to Atlanta. Talked about that during my interview and because the college I'm at now has a partnership with TFA it didn't seem like a big deal. The interviewer also told me they don't even look at your region choices until after you are accepted to the corps. So hopefully it won't matter for us either way!

@tfa2013.

I haven't gotten my results either but I think I bombed my test. My head was not on straight that day which is okay because Science/History/English are my prefs.
