Pros/cons of being an accountant/studying accounting

So I'm majoring in business with a concentration in accounting. Who else is majoring in accounting? Personally, what's your pros and cons studying accounting?

And for the people working as an accountant or accounting related job, personally whats your pros/cons about the career? ALL OPINIONS APPRECIATED

you should pm taxguy, valleyaccountant, and numbahone. I've talked to both taxguy and numbahone. That'd be your best bet since they are actually in the field.

I'm an accountant and there are great "pros"! First, every business needs an accountant. This results in many job opportunities. When I graduated I went the auditing route which I loved because everyday is different and I got to travel extensively around the country. I have friends that work for movie studios in LA, one working for a major league baseball organization and another who audits defense contracts for the government. After public auditing, I became an internal auditor for a major restaurant chain and continued traveling the US, as well as Europe. I stayed home for many years with my kids, and now work part time for the FDA. I really can't think of any cons except studying for the CPA exam, although I did work for a construction company when I was college and I thought that was boring. The point is you can move into any industry that interests you. Finally, it pays really well!

The pro is that you're an accountant.

The con is that you're an accountant.
