Looking for an Internship in Washington D.C.

I am looking for an internship in Washington D.C. this summer. I am majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Economics and German. I am looking for something related to the environment in some way to begin to test my interests. I have interests in policy, alternative energy, food, etc. I think working for a non-profit, a government organization, or a think tank would be amazing, but I have no idea where to start for finding opportunities.

Does anyone have suggestions of places I could apply that sound compatible with my interests? Actually, any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. I am a little overwhelmed and not sure where to start.

Thank you!

White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). It's a separate application process from the White House Internship Program (the WH Internship Program is for White House Office and Office of the Vice President components of the Executive Office of the President, while other components like CEQ and the Office of National Drug Control Policy have their own programs).

Best of luck. Getting an internship in DC is super-competitive. People from all over the country and world hope to get internships there.

Sounds like you could find a relevant office within the State Department student programs - deadline has passed for summer though, maybe another time?
