Hello CC forum,

One of the intriguing questions I have in my head right now is pertaining to the job offers after finishing one's undergraduate/postgraduate course. I am currently doing the IB Diploma Course in India. I was really looking forward to do my undergraduate course in United States, but due to financial and other I may not be able to do so. However, I am pretty sure that I will be doing my post graduation study in United States. I am also looking forward to work in the United States for a couple of years. Looking for some engineering course.

Scenario 1

Under graduation - Indian University (Not IIT)

Post Graduation - Reputed University in America (Purdue, UIUC or likewise)

Scenario 2

Under graduation - Reputed University in America (Purdue, UIUC or likewise)

Post Graduation - Reputed University in America (Purdue, UIUC or likewise)


Which scenario would get me better jobs? Or will it be the same?
I have given my SATs and will be giving them again. Although I am preparing for Under graduating in the US, I am not sure of it. My SAT score will be somewhere around 1900-2000. What do you guys think about the job offers for either scenario.

Go for grad in US. Save yourself some money.

However, will my chances be affected from which university I come from if I get the same GPA in both India and United States. From what I have read, its highly unlikely that I have a good chance getting into a good university for Grads if I apply from an Indian course's degree. Also, wouldn't job offers in USA prefer people who have done both degrees in United States more?

Well American employers don't know much about Indian schools so your UG won't be a problem. They'll care more about where you got your Masters from. As long as you rock that then you should be good for most employers.

Idk about the process for going from Indian UG to American Grad. Just try to get into the best schools possible.
