Does a consulting Internship help for Ibanking?

I will most probably have an internship with Booz Allen Hamilton next summer. I know it is a top consulting firm but I am doing it just to get some experience. I don't exactly want to pursue consulting as a career, rather I want to break into ibanking. would the internship significantly help me impress ibanks?

And why don't you try and get an internship in Ibanking then?

It might help to get an internship at an i-bank, however, any work experience can be a beneficial thing, especially for interviews. I know a bunch of people who interned at consulting firms then pursued careers in ibanking. Don't know exactly what to tell you, Booz Allen is a great firm.

polo1a, if it were that easy to get an ibanking internship i would have had one by now wouldn't I now? I hope to learn a lot through at Booz Allen Hamilton so hopefully that will help me. I don't go to a school recruited by ibanks so it is very VERY HARD to get even close to ibanking.

How did you get the consulting internship?

And Wesleyan seems good, I'm guessing Ibanking firms hire out of there. Seems like you have a decent shot
