Ptooey! The dreaded i-banking! What schools do you go to? You should first ask around family/friends. Then, ask your career center.

Just apply to the major firms, they are always hiring as not many people go into this field.

I've never heard of any h.s. student or as a matter of fact any college freshman getting jobs in ibanking. Some sophomores in college get them but primarily ibanks have internships only for college juniors.

For the big firms, I think prority is given to app's from top school, my cousin's at Amherst were practically hunted by the recruter's and coming from an Ivy never hurts. I think their looking for students who could be successful recruits upon graduation.

wrong: i will be a hs senior next year and I have an internship lined up so you CAN get one as a hs senior, at least. I applied as a junior and was told I was too young so perhaps that's the cut off. If you are extremely talented and you are younger than normal (as bern stated college junior) you should still go for it b/c you never know.

Get a good analytical and liberal education. Read "Seven Laws of Money" by Michael Phillips. Figure out how you are going to pay for college and not graduate without unmanageable debt. Learn how insurance and investment companies work. Learn how banks work. Can you literally think outside the perverbial box?
If you an investment banker , why would you ever want to have a job working for someone (company) other than working for yourself?
The biggest layoffs and firing in financial industry has also been in I-Banking.

or you have really really really good connections, or you're going to be filing papers. Trust me you will not be doing any kind of analyst work as a senior in h.s. unless you're working for an i-bank but not in their ibanking division but rather in their private wealth management division.
I know recruiters at all the bulge bracket Ibanks and I would can say with almost complete confidence that you will not be doing anything other than filing work, sorry.
