Here at CC, we lots of posts from members who (apparently) view college primarily as a vehicle to a lucrative career. There's nothing wrong with seeking financial success, though there IS a lot wrong with choosing a career you don't expect to enjoy (or know very little about) purely because of the financial rewards it may offer. Note that most of these points show that there are MANY paths to financial success, that academic hyper-achievement or a degree from a top school isn't a prerequisite, and that really enjoying what you do IS usually a key requirement.
