Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Hi, so I have a bit of a tough decision ahead of me. For the past month I've been interning at a prestigious think tank in DC. The work itself is pretty boring and I'm not really allowed to do much other than act like a secretary. The internship will go until the end of June, at which time I can either extend it or move on. Now yesterday I got an interview offer from a new place that would start at the beginning of July. This place is similar to where I'm at now, but not nearly as well known. The job description for this place sounds pretty similar to where I'm at now, but it might be a bit more substantial.

Part of me wants to take this new job; I would meet more people and would have 2 internships instead of one to put on my resume. On the other hand, the place where I am now has prestige. Moreover, I may be given more substantive work if I stay into July--possibly doing some actual research. Also, I really like my fellow interns at the current position. So what do you guys think I should do? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

stick with the place with prestige. Working there for only a month or two won't look that hot.

i'm feeling your pain :/. what i would do if i were you is have a candid convo with your mentor in the less prestigioous internship. ask him what kinds of things you could do in his firm, and if the conditions really would be better, then why not work for him.

Won't people reading your resume wonder why you left the first place so quickly?

Do you mind me asking what "thinktank"? I ask only because I amost took a position at one this summer, but feared what you have described.

CSIS. It's not really their fault though. I just got stuck in a bad program with a wierd boss. For the most part, CSIS is a pretty sweet place to be.
